AOW99: The Test is a template map meant to help with map creation and to test things on. It was taken out of the main distribution a while back, it's now uploaded here.

umm.. i dont know if i downloaded it wrong, but when i open up "AOW99" all it is is doom2 (am i not doing something right?).

oh so close to making aow maps :v

Have you include in doom builder all necessary resources for game type: "zDoom (Doom in UDMF format)" ?

As this is necessary information I'll just be lazy and ask, what are the necessary resources ?

I have added the resources which seemed logical but still get errors when loading map:
omega_patch_r2623M.pk3
aow2_omega_r2539.pk3
skulltag_data.pk3
doom2.wad

Also slopes does not show correctly in the visual mode of Doom Builder. I am able to edit, load and play the map though.

New to mod map editing but have actually created doom maps since the middle of the '90s. Appreciate any help. :)

Is that the exact loading order? (First at top) If so, then reverse it. :x

I have added omega_music_r2539.pk3 instead of skulltag_data.pk3 and have no problems.

You'll need to go to game configurations, select the UDMF one, and in Plugins, uncheck the visual mode and check GZDoom visual mode. If there is no GZDoom visual mode listed, you need to add the plugin dll. (It's on my mediafire account fwiw)

Thanks guys. Changing order of resources made the errors go away and slopes now showing after placing that dll in the plugins folder of Doom Builder and activating the Mode.

There are still some textures missing (grass2_1 for example) but think I saw them earlier so I'll probably solve that.

I have test this test map, and have some problem: when players dies, he don't appear in the spawnroom, but rise to spectators.

I need a new version of this AOW99.wad without Skulltag textures on buildings. Do you have it done already or should I edit them out myself ? Are there some kind of replacement list for textures ?

Also I'm trying to use Zandronum to test maps directly from Doom Builder but get this error:

Same command line works with Skulltag. Help is appreciated.

Load skulltag_actors.pk3. That's what it's there for. The error comes from the game looking for the Skulltag Minigun when it's not there.

Actually I needed to add skulltag_actors.pk3 for it to work. And in this order:


I got the notion elsewhere in the forum that Skulltag textures were being phased out in coming versions of AOW2.
