The crate lasts til death. It's horrible, so what about making the effect temporary like berserk and fatigue?

I think those crates you have mentioned fatigue and demoralization already last until you die or resign. I simply rush to base, resign and instead of planned attack I do some other job such as repairing or harvesting.

Fatigue is temporary, and resigning sucks when you have other crate goodies such as open deck, speed, etc.

It's the price you take for the risk of picking up a crate. It doesn't have a huge impact like the fatigue does (because classes are slow without it so with it it would be helllll)

Oh yeah, cause dealing half as much damage isn't a huge impact. lawl.

Actually, according to the code, you just do 75% damage. The Intel notification's wrong, I guess.
