 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
THIS IS LEGITIMATE STRTRGY DISCUSSUN
KNIFE IS BEST wEAPEn
no really chainsaw + stealth is the best ever, any campers or lone people are ded. Best assassination class
Otherwise, Technician with massdriver. SMG for people, MD for mechs, tech gun to repair people and mechs. best support class

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
Too bad the effectiveness of that combination is lowered when your team is pinned or the enemies are in groups of 3 and up (Or one player + some form of ai like turrets and such).
Ontopic, chainsaw so useful as anti sniper.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
Utility gun... when used at mid. I hate building defs, it's sorta boring but I do it if I have to. Medic gun is another. Favorite offensive weapon... wait what am I thinking chainsaw is the best. SSG, sprayers, gatlings and machine gun are pretty high up too.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
Personal favorite? I'd have to say the already-mentioned Stealth + Chainsaw combo, although the knife is also decent for when you want to keep some form of cloaking without having to switch weapons.
Here's a few others:
Utility Gun: If I have anything left after setting up the base defenses, I set up portals and put some defenses around them, along with stupid amounts of Super Caches. also everything is cheap and i usually have a ton of money to waste when i feel like switching
Flamethrower: Hilariously overpowered when you know how to use it right.
Machine Gun: It's gotten a lot more accurate since I last played, although I kind of miss the alternate fire.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
When the chainsaw is in the inventory, make it play a constant sound regardless if selected or not? Reduce the chainsaw's reach?

Only if there's another way to kill careless snipers.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
I would suggest removing the "throwable" ability from the chainsaw, and replace it with the ability to crank up/turn off* the chainsaw. Thus, whenever the chainsaw is deselected, it cuts off, rendering it useless unless it's cranked back up. However, when it is selected/bought, the player must crank it up in order to use it. This will give the other player a bit more time to react when a stealth "chainsawer" comes trotting up behind them.
* Turning off the chainsaw will allow you to sometimes sneak up on careless players as a non-stealth class. Of course, it's likely it won't be turned off, anyway. Heh.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
It's not like you can magically turn invisibe, or eat 15 mech rockets without dying, or having your fist instakill and have red vision, teleport, modify players' physics, have moon physics, have a gun that can create objects out of nothing, hold a grenade forever without exploding, rocket jump, have laser weapons, plasma weapons, take out a guardian mech from a small crate anyway.
I am personally getting sick of this lolrealism because the game is much more fun with elements that don't exist (yet) in real life. If you want realistic stuff go play RGA2, or any other lol-nazi-zombies-realistic-weapons-fight-against-russians-with-real-life-elementes-and-slow-and-annoying-speed-with-instakill-weapons mod.

 Re: FAVOURITE WEAPON
^ What that guy said.
Still though it's in the name of balance, at least for me. Seems that stealth chainsawing has become less prevalent, but if it gets horrible again then yes, I'd say reducing the range is about all it really needs.
