Post Different gamemode possibly?
Basically something like Attack and Defend. One team of players attacks the defending players. Whatever limit is reached, sides are switched and vice versa.

I recently was watching quite the entertainment from 07, blue team was forced into their Barracks, with no choice but to defend and bar up heavily; the results were pretty damn chaotic with lots of reds attacking in large groups. I can say that could have some fun in it if certain close quarter maps are made for this type of playing style.

Maybe say.. 30-45 minutes? No frags or any tickets, just a time-limit to complete your objective.

Harvesters wouldn't be able to get attacked to keep constant credit flow (or just infinite credits, but with certain weapons disabled to prevent any spamming, Plasma cannon for example or classes restricted to a certain amount of people) and ensuring every member has enough to fit their Defending/Attacking roles; of course players could just get the free classes.. but they wouldn't be equipped correctly.

Talking about it a bit in #omega and decided to have classes available depending on what rank you're currently on.

Here's a list I put together, any change ideas are welcome.

Private:

Rifleman
Machine Gunner
Field Medic

Sergeant:

Flame Thrower
Advanced Tiberium Harvester
Tiberium Autorifle
Grenade Soldier

Master Sergeant:

Officer:

Demolitions Expert

Laser Chaingun
Rocket Solider

Lieutenant:

Artillery Solider
Plasma Gunner

Major:

Sniper
Shock Trooper

Commando:

Commando
Suicide Bomber

I am liking this idea, but you have Sniper and Rocker Trooper listed twice. Lol.

I've personally always thought of an attack/defend mode in AOW, ofc with alternate maps to keep such a mode from being total BS.

Who knows, I'm thinking of maybe even a sort of non-map dependent AoW wad where it's just your rank determining your class options to spawn as, even for something like 1 flag CTF on maps that suit the weapons and gamestyle well enough (focusing on aim and positioning instead of massive speed to dodge everything and oneshot SSG kills).

Or TDM. Just because.

I don't really like the thought of classes-by-ranks because that'd make mid-joining harder.. which is sorta counter-productive IMO.

But yeah I think the gamemode could use a some fresh blood. Originally this was meant to be a multi-gamemode mod so why not?

Well, what about people who join 5-10 minutes as the map starts, start at corporal?

Perhaps have frags up the team experience counter a liiittle bit. (5 or something? This is a really long TDM match after all.)

Those that join the game would get the current amount of collective experience.
