A single bomb-squad gun can disarm it in 10 seconds. If you fail to do THAT then it's the team's fault for not backing you up.

Usually when a nuke's in base there's like two demo guys and three technicians anyway.

If everyone can have a beacon at the same time, in SD, everyone will take and beacon seconds before SD, and when SD comes will put another beacons.
Imagine a full server, 16 players put 16 ions, comes SD and put another 16 ions XD ... 32 ions at the same time for 4 buildings + obe XD =>> Súper rush spam ions.

Seriously, must left in the way it is now. Ion is a weapon which can do a strategy.
Ions sounds scared, make that people who is killing return to base, several take an engineer and the other team can win more control of the field.
Or just like like said back there, can use it like a Decoy for a mech rush or a rush C4 obe.

We don't have other weapon which can do that. Is the only one.
And that is cool, we must avoid turn it into a Spam weapon.

PD: In the case you want make a change, may could reduce the time to get an ion; or get, no more, that 2 ions at the same time :)

Thanks, but I don't think you followed the thread. I've pretty much ditched that idea and leaned towards making them not take such a god-awful time to work.

All of this is too situational. If one team is overwhelmed, this might be a plausible idea. On the contrary, a full server of 32 players (or more than 8 per team) would lead to massive spam. The team work is also dependant on every game. It's impossible to consider every aspect, just like how it is now. If you really want, you can make a patch to try out and get feedback
