Post Evade being afk for long time
Is this an improvement to an already-existing feature, or a new feature entirely?
A new feature

How would this work?
Players can't be afk for long time (5 min?) and make them spectate.

Can you give an example in how useful this feature would be?
1) A player can buy a limited weapon (like plasma cannon) and stay afk, the team has minus one slots for Plasma Cannon.
2) A player can occupy slots for other players.
3) A player can scrape money
3) Etc.. etc..

Well, I do agree with this, somewhat...

I have seen quite a few players become AFK and they have bought plasma cannons, beacons, etc. This could help by allowing more players to have an opportunity to get what they want, instead of having to wait for the AFK person to return and then...die...

This is already being worked on, though admittedly slowly. But we've seen a lot of people go AFK for really extended periods of time and it really screws over the team who has these people, especially when it's more than one person, so we do have plans to do something about it.

Or alternatively, find a method of figuring out if a player has been in the spawn room for too long, and threaten to make him spectate or get booted if he doesn't get out.

If the guy's dead, then the problem of the Plasma Cannon slots and such won't really matter, will they?

And if the guy is in the field, he'll die somehow. Well, probably.

Oh wow - I didn't even think of that.

It can, however, be exploited by flying units, and that is a problem. The solution I originally had in mind would've been better to accommodate for that.

I got a better idea:

If a player is afk and this guy holds a plasma cannon, beacon or is a time cop, simply remove the plasma cannon from his inventory and make him resign after 5 mins.

But then they still take up player spots on the team, which can eventually lead to an unbalance due to 2 or 3 people afk on the same team.
Force spectating them will allow more people to join on the team with lower amount of non afk players.
