Hello...

In the last 2 released I realize in the way to add more cool things or change stuff in the game... are getting worst a few things.
I think skill is a whole of: Good moves, Good strategy, Good Aim, and be smart.
We shouldn't have weapons with so much power becouse then nobody needs have skills (just 1 of this characteristic: Aim)


Case 1:
In this days I saw players who are a noobs yet, but they took Artillery Canoon (for Example) and only what they do is shoot... and the enemy die. Yeah, with just 1 shoot and a little of aim.

Case 2:
Other players between noob and regular skills. They took shoock tropper, and all what they need to do was just walk and shoot ... they made lots of frags. So simple =S


I saw lots of this king of stuff.
The worst case is when players buy Plasma gunner or Shock Trooper and kill themselfts, take their weapon and then buy stealth... is a nightmare.
And severals players do that... I can give names jaja but this time I wouldn't do it XD
I always insist and I will do it forever, when a player die cause "kill himselft" (whatever reason... crate, graneda, fire, tyberium, etc) shouldn't left his weapon pack, whereever he dies (spaw rooms or in the field)



There is overpowered weapons and I imagine that is hard to have 100 % balance... maybe impossible.
However is too much with just 1 shoot can kill someone. Except for Chew Warrior becouse it has 4 granades so can't do "spam".

Now I can count:

Plasma Gunner (OverPowered)
Shock Trooper. (It blinds you, its range is too much, and OverPowered)
Artillery Cannyon. (Very OverPowered)
RocketLauncher. (OverPowered)
and Demolition expert with their remote c4 (Very Overpowered)



Should take off power to the weapons instead give more power in the attempt to balance.
With less power in the weapon everybody needs move better, have better aim, be faster, be smart... be better playing.
If with 1 shoot kills to the enemy, just needs shoot and shoot and shoot... with a little of aim.

Should make the player try to worry get better.
Should promove skills instead spam.

I agree with you, although I am not sure about nerfing the rocker launcher. Its rockets are very slow, and they get to be homing only if target is in close range and you manage to fire while aiming at your target, which is not very easy. It's like the gauss rifle in close range, expect your enemies can't always get hit by the missiles when they home.

Plasma Gun? Not OP. Powerful in close range and corridors but that's it, everywhere else it's so easily dodged.

Shock Rifle? Potential candidate for OP. It does have a wide spread at range yes, but it reaches pretty far out on most maps, enough to make the bolt length not even a factor most of the time. We'll try something out, we could make the range a few feet shorter or even make it sort of a rapid-fire laserdamage shotgunner and see how that works.

Artillery Cannon? OP in versatility. It can be used against any target and deal heavy, accurate damage. Stealth? Oneshot. Laser anything? Oneshot too. Any other class? 2-3 shot. Mechs? DEY CANNOT ESCAPE. Most of the problem is the Artillery Soldier's firing speed (which was designed before the explosives buff happened). Looks like lasers have the edge in longer range 1v1 fights vs. explosives being good in short/med range against groups.
Possible Actions: Reduce extreme-range accuracy (a tiny bit of spread or projectile speed), adjust splash radius, tweak direct/splash damage ratio (currently 1:10), tweak rate of fire/damage ratio.

Either that or make it a building killing weapon. AOW kinda needs an alternative to external attacks than mechs and plasma cannons. At least Renegade has Gunners for that.

Remote C4: OP as holy balls, only because its projectile speed wasn't compensated with gravity/throw angle, so you can throw instantly exploding fastballs at people 20 yards away as a direct attack weapon :v
Yes it's funny. Yes, it's not funny seeing demomen throwing rC4 all over the place instakilling players and mechs from behind cover at grenade launcher range. I think it'd still be fun even if the bomb was tossed to the ground to lay traps. I mean, check out the shit people pull off with C4 like that

Now imagine if you could throw that C4 50 feet. That's the balance we got now. :U

I actually find lasers way better at close-range against missilebros, at least when I'm the one with the missile launcher. ;[

@Medicris: It can already be used to damage buildings pretty well, since the primary fire does 1% a shot. Remember that last match when their refinery went down to 20%? That was all from me sniping it.

@Blox: It's normally a one hit kill if you actually manage to hit a laser class with it- failing that, just shoot the floor to get them instead.

And not to mention the artillery cannon's insane explosion radius. You can basically rocketjump while rofling laser guys who are on the other end of a room.

I think the strong mass driver is required so you can counter those overpowered classes such as Storm trooper (Shock Trooper - edited) and Laser Chaingunner. You can't beat them other way.

I agree, but it's too strong. It is actually very effective against the classes who are very resistant to explosives too.

I agree that he wrote Zajaquiel. Now the attack classes - Demolition expert, gauss, medic, gunman, shocktrooper, ssg. That's all. The same commando no longer profitable to play - without armor, he an easy target. Shock Trooper, Artillery Cannyon, remote 4 - almost the only weapons they found in the game, because of their strong imbalance.
as for me - Demolition expert should be a protective class, and not become the basic attacker, driving commando.

You mean as in, "escort me plz", or as in literally not an attacker.

Because whacking buildings is exactly what he always was for in the first place, so he's technically always been an attacker.

Unlagged ensures that the target's location is relatively the same as if you had very little lag; the actual attacks are not compensated for this way. Shots still take that same whole 180 ms to register. Only their movement is unlagged.

So if you take a melee weapon and attempt hitting an enemy moving away from you, you'll be in his face but your actual "punches" will be a few feet behind both of you.

Also, I agree that the Commando needs a bit more armour now. Even if you have three main class weapons, it doesn't mean a whole lot if you're slow as a minigunner and fragile as a machinegunner. I'm thinking that for his slowness, he could be a "mighty glacier" class, being an expensive, slow, but very tough character.

Grade 3 boolet armor, still without being able to buy +1 armor grade?

Altough massdriver need actually one more shell to kill opponent, it's very high ranked weapon still. No matter what class I am I can't combat without it. When massdriver was overpowered people used it every time in all situations and in return they improved they skills. Beside you have very powerful advantage if you can do mass driver jump over people that can't.
