 Re: Faster weapon switching
AGREED. Oh lordy, this is needed so badly. When you're firing a sniper at someone, then he runs up in your face and you fumble for your shotgun for 5 seconds, reading the names on the bottom, and when you finally have it you're at 15% health. You fire, only one pellet hits, he laughs, he shoots you dead. NOTHING IS MORE RAGE-INDUCING.
Same goes for fumbling for C4s when you're raiding a base, and switching to a good gun when you're trying to defend it.
1+ to Dark for suggesting this.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
EDIT: Scratch that, but I still agree though to allow faster switching of weaker weapons.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
Honestly I don't see the need for this. its a matter of knowing where your weapons are, having the right one out and understanding when to switch

 Re: Faster weapon switching

 Re: Faster weapon switching
I agree, but ONLY for weaker weapons.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
Agreed, since lighter weapons should be easier to pull out than heavier weapons, like Mass Driver or Plasma Cannon.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
On second thought, yes. Stuff like the Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Repairgun, etc. should switch quickly, but heavier things like snipers and cannons shouldn't.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
We have the pistol and fist and stuff like that deselect faster. Would it be a good idea to have this applied to some other weapons too?

 Re: Faster weapon switching
The knife? Fists and chainsaw have kinda phased it out. If you were able to quickly swap to it when the chance arises to slice someone, why not? Not sure, though.
Another one could be the SMG to be a tad faster to switch, not as fast as handguns, but that might be pushing it.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
I don't know about the SMG, since it's been upped in effectiveness. Knife, certainly. I'll do that...

 Re: Faster weapon switching
shotgun is effective too, and so is rifle. And that's like the low-tier weapons. So I guess nothing else needs fast weapon switching.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
The shotgun would definitely benefit from a fast select/deselect however. And so would the SSG, actually.

 Re: Faster weapon switching
With the knife switch going faster, I'm closing this.

 Re: [Added] Faster weapon switching
The point of close and short range weapons is to have different effective ranges. If you had the ability to very quickly switch from a sniper rifle to a shotgun would remove such possible counterattacks.

 Re: [Added] Faster weapon switching
Well, the average change in switch speed differs with weapons, it’s ~0.3 second in average, at least that’s what I heard. Each gun has a different knifing speed too, depending on the switch animation, so yeah, theoretically Fast Switch should improve the knifing speed. But I don’t think anyone credible ever tested it.
