Is this an improvement to an already-existing feature, or a new feature entirely?
Improvement
If an improvement, what original feature is it improving upon?
Obelisk Effects
How would this work?
By...
1: Giving it a flare where it fires from when it fires.
2: Having the obelisk plasma have a better trail.
Can you give an example in how useful this feature would be?
1: Very easy to understand. The obby in renegade does this.

2: Basically, the obelisk's plasma's speed is at 2000. that it too fast to spawn an effective trail of which it is supposed to do.
So, I changed the obby's plasma speed to 500 or 250. This will give it an effective trail. To make up for the speed loss, it now uses A_SeekerMissile to try and balance it back to how it was.

Now. There are 2 files.
1 has the obby's plasma speed at 250. It gives it a better trail, but it can be evaded if you quickly duck behind something.
The other has the plasma's speed at 500. It is much harder to evade, but still gives an effective trail. I would prefer this one.

Now, you must test each one and say which one is better for balance.
I see the obby having almost no plasma trail a balance issue, since in renegade you could see where it fires.

Erm. Why not keep the current speed, yet make it fire a separate projectile that creates the trail? Just keep the Obelisk's actual attack the way it is, and have an invisible, non-damaging projectile spawn the trail.

That way it can look better and not have to alter the actual attack.

I have obby code where the trail is spawned with clientside ACS. :P
Should dust that off and finish it...
