I know it's a bit too cool by now to be considered a hotfix but bah, here it is. Should fix the outstanding issues with artillery cannon, remote c4, shock rifle, AOW07/15/21.

Includes some sprites Blox whipped up during the making of the patch, also, AOW06 finally has that "skybox bug" fixed.

Build r2539 released!

Oh boy. It's been a full five months since last release, but we're finally here! I certainly hope the next build won't take this long to make.

We have a lot of major changes for this build, including a lot of rather major ones. A tip of the iceberg:
  • Added armor grades to make armoring up more simple. Grades range from 0 to 5, modifier, well, modifies it for fire/chemproof and such.
  • Bazooka revamped both gameplay-wise and graphically into the Missile Launcher.
  • Lots of graphical updates, including a new HUD, SMG, Gauss rifle, heavy edits to Artillery Cannon, Missile Launcher and Plasma Cannon.
  • AOW14: Canyon II has been heavily revamped into Emerald Wasteland by Dusk. Try not to fall into the nukage!
  • Portals are now considered base addons. Can be repaired, appear more compact and appear in the base HUD display (which also instantly updates now btw).
  • Implemented a points system which measures how useful you are to the team.

arrrrgh where do I begin? It's been way too long again. :)

Notable changes include:
  • AOW21 has got a revamp by Hjalg.
  • Slot 2 /entirely/ moved to inventory items, with some few new additions in that department! Slots moved backward accordingly.
  • AI marines make their entrance! Based on coop marines by unknownna, these guys appear during compensation to help. And sometimes, you can get them from crates too!
  • Medic has faced a revamp. Now getting experience for healing others and equipped with the healing radius, the guy is actually a medic now.
  • Juggernaut has been largely revamped and has been renamed to Guardian. It's a mech killer, but it's very vulnerable to infantry.
  • The UAC has discontinued its Flashbangs -line, replacing it with a chainsaw! Time to mow 'em over.
  • Also now with GLDEFS, to add dynamic pointlights to actors!
  • Experience system reworked again to make things more fair again.
  • Machine gun reworked to a weapon more like Doom's chaingun. Remains effective, just keep your distance now.

I'd like to extend my thanks to Thetis, Medicris and Eric who have, as always, been of very valuable help and a lot of this release couldn't have been done without them. :)

Build r2050 released!!

After three months of hard work and perhaps the biggest testing phase in AOW history, build r2050 sees the light of day. MOST notable features include:
  • Several major balance updates within weapons, including gatling gun, grenade launcher and handgun. The FOV is now disabled, with the sniper rifle and laser chaingun having scopes instead.
  • Weapons now feature pickup sprites! They will no longer appear as dull backpacks anymore.
  • Several weapons have new sprites as well as balance updates.
  • A new color palette, with graphics updated to match said palette. Has more azure blues and saturated greens, plus more violet purples.
  • Experience system has been `nerfed`. Commando rank only gives 150HP, for instance.
  • Two new maps: AOW17: Defunct Commission by dj-jo and AOW18: Red Zone by martini1179 to replace Shattered Remains and Sand Canyon.
  • Several new crates added: Open Deck, a powerful crate that lets you choose an arbitrary effect, Berserk, which turns you into a red-seeing punching maniac, and Moon Physics, a rare crate which has some.. floating effects on the very map itself.
  • Turrets revamped - the LRM turret is now an anti-mech Artillery turret and gun and klaxon turrets are more useful. Proxy mines now award frags and disarm cleanly, and many utility items have proper sprites as well.
  • Many, many, changes to help this become a better mod in general.

I'd like to extend my thanks to Thetis, who helped fix several diabolical bugs within the code and Called who supplied with lots of bug and exploit reports.

About time for a new release!

Notable changes include:
  • AOW20 has got majorly reworked.
  • New, revamped Tiberium system.
  • Time cop returns again! This time as a support class.
  • Suicide bomber (once Kamikaze/Terrorist) has gained a large buff, making it an actual potential threat.
  • New sprites for steps and mass driver, kudos to lilmoder and Haze respectively.
  • Several exploits have been fixed. (e.g. money bug, research centre block)
  • Players can now see friendly stealth troopers!

Have a lot of fun. :)

Patch r1697 has been released, notable changes being the removal of mech cooldown and the addition of portals to the utility gun on larger maps. Also the infamous stealth bug has been squashed.

- Fixed an infinite loop within the mechs' Death.Ion/NukeExplosion states - this seems to have been the server crasher.

Patch r1661 released

This is an update to r1646, which adds a couple of new features and a bunch of bug fixes.

Notable changes include the Remote C4 crate, fixes to utility gun freezeups and gauss rifle instakills. Also stealth players no longer leave footsteps! It's time to activate cl_identifytarget again.
